Anna Shumilina

The education of Anna Shumilina was mainly concentrated on mathematical physics and computer simulations (at the Department of Mathematics and Computer science of the Far Eastern State University in Vladivostok, Russia), industrial mathematics (at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany), and biochemistry (at the Department of Biology, Ecology, and Soil Sciences of the Far Eastern State University in Vladivostok, Russia). After studies she worked for more than five years at the Department of Mathematics in the Technical University of Berlin, where she mostly dealt with courses related to differential equations and modeling, as well as performed interdisciplinary research in the field of molecular modeling and protein folding. Currently she works on interdisciplinary projects with applications in system biology and personalized medicine at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (Fraunhofer ITWM) in Kaiserslautern, and particularly she is specialized in mathematical modeling of biological and chemical processes, as well as in studies involving computer science applications, mostly simulation and visualization.
